We are in the most modern times where all of us live in the reactive world and often struggle to relax and just let go as if there is stress and burden to even drop things.
We all carry trauma, unresolved emotions, pain, and honestly, it’s really alright!
The whole purpose is to be able to release it.
This gentle step-by-step practice of Yoga Nidra allows us to release all of this without even reliving it all over again.
Yoga Nidra is an age-old practice of Yoga described in ancient texts.
It is a sleep-based meditation where you learn to relax as deeply as in sleep while being awake.
Like Swami Satyananda describes it, ‘going to sleep state’. This is the state where we are most aware at the same time highly relaxed.
Yoga Nidra helps us to experience the same state without falling asleep. Since sleep is natural to us, this practice proves to be highly efficient than other seated practices where we have a certain technique or system to follow.
Yoga Nidra is all about ‘undoing, unlearning’, letting go of any goal or even the idea of ‘being spiritual’. It works by taking you to brainwave states similar to those in sleep where you go completely disengaged from your thoughts and emotions creating the possibility to access deeper layers of the mind.
For people who have difficulty in practicing seated practices, Yoga Nidra is the most accessible for them. This practice is amazing because it helps you to experience the deepest states of consciousness which otherwise is challenging and difficult to achieve in seated practices.
The most beautiful part of Yoga Nidra is that this practice brings changes in your waking state and relaxation in a way becomes your default state!!

Originally an Interior Designer, Joshita started to practice Yoga and Meditation at a very young age under the guidance of her mother. Joshita has been practicing Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation for several years on a regular basis. She has conducted Yoga Nidra, Meditation classes, courses, and workshops in various teacher training courses and retreats for over 8 years in Rishikesh, India, and Thailand. Joshita is a certified Yoga Nidra Facilitator. She studied Yoga Nidra with Bettina Kahlert (renowned Yoga Nidra Teacher) and also finished Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training with her. She also got the privilege to study and complete 30-hour Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training through the one and only ‘International Yoga Nidra Conference’.
Her curiosity to explore different aspects of Yoga led her to Rishikesh, India, and Asian Countries where she studied and still continues to be intensively participating in different forms of Yoga, workshops, and courses from various traditions. She began to learn in-depth knowledge of ancient teachings of Yoga at The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Kerala, India. After finding its profound benefits with the daily practice of Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation and Karma Yoga, it completely changed her perspective of the body, mind, energy and spirituality.
The call for sharing this knowledge was so deep in her that she started to teach Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation at Sivananda Yoga Centre. She loves to bring dynamism and enthusiasm in her classes.
Her first experience of Yoga Nidra after an asana class made her realize that life does not have to be taken so seriously and it’s not so difficult to let go as we think it is. This practice made her realize that stillness exists within all of us, undistorted by what we do or don’t do on the outside but this point of stillness inside remains the same always. She is very excited to share her experience with you and see what it can bring for you.
